Serve through Prayer
Prayer Ministry Volunteers
Contact Dr. April Johnson Bristow - april@fumcr.com / 972.996.0139
Prayer Team members come to the Chapel on Tuesday mornings between 10 am and noon to pray for persons and families in crisis as a response to prayer requests submitted by members of the congregation as well as area hospital chapels.
Prayer time is offered silently on a come-and-go basis. Participants do not pray together, but individually pick up prayer cards and pray over each card. Prayers are offered kneeling at the altar or seated in a chair. A list of new church members, military and on-going prayer requests is available to take home for prayers during the week.
Prayer Team members are confident in prayer life, maturing in faith, can keep confidences (since prayer concerns are a sacred trust) and give a minimum of 30 minutes a week to pray for concerns of others. Praying for people that are in need of trust, peace, comfort, patience and healing has an impact on Prayer Ministry Group members as they intercede before God on others' behalf. New group members are always welcome!
