God spoke: “Let us make human beings in our image, make them reflecting our nature
so they can be responsible for the fish in the sea, the birds in the air, the cattle, and, yes, Earth itself, and every animal that moves on the face of Earth.”
Genesis 1:26-28 (MSG)

What We Do
Creation Care Fairs
Attendees learn about steps the church is taking and steps individuals can take to heal an atmosphere damaged by decades of pollution.
Plant-Based Meals
Enjoy a tasty meal and experience one of the most effective ways individuals can help protect and restore the earth as well as provide enough food for everyone by eating more plants and less meat.
Resource Management & Education
We are moving away from using Styrofoam at the church. When disposables are needed, we want to use compostables that will become compost for the Garden Ministry. Ultimately, we want the church to serve all its meals on its non-disposable dinnerware. Such a change will save the church money as well as reduce the wastefulness of using disposables.
FUMCR recycles. This effort has had ups and downs. We can do more.
The team is nudging FUMCR toward using solar energy for economy as well as stewardship.
The Green Team can put Sunday Schools in touch with local speakers about water conservation, electricity use, and Climate Change mitigation.
