Ark House Communications/PR Chairman

Promote Ark House by producing brochures and twice yearly newsletters, maintaining website (ArkHouseDallas.org), creating news releases, maintaining a speaker's bureau, and by any other methods deemed necessary.

School Partnerships : Greenwood Hills Spring Book Fair

February 23-March 2 at Greenwood Hills Elementary. Various shifts are available doing anything from helping children select books to helping set up and break down the book fair.

Kairos Inside Team Members - Beto, May 16-20

Kairos Prison Ministry brings positive and negative leaders together, in both male and female prisons, for a 3 ½ day weekend designed to build a Christian community inside the institution through a structured program of talks, meditations, chapel visits, music, and a lot of listening and loving.

A team is forming for a Weekend at Beto Prison, May 16-20. Required training dates are 3/24, 4/7, 4/21, 5/5.

Training promotes team building and spiritual readiness for this mission, as well as safety and policy guidelines while inside the prison. All volunteers are trained to "Listen. Listen. Love. Love."

Rio Texas Workcamp Participants

A team from FUMCR will go to the Rio Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church, which is in the coastal bend area of south Texas, to help with rebuilding from Hurricane Harvey. Work will be primarily residential and could include installing sheetrock, insulation, cabinets, roof work, painting, or cleanup. Skilled and non-skilled volunteers are needed.

Dates: June 10-16, 2018
Open to: Adults, 18+
Cost: $125 per person to help defray costs of food and transportation
Lodging and showers: Team will stay at Sinton UMC in Sinton, Texas. Air mattresses are needed for sleeping
Transportation: 12 passenger vans
Food: Cooks have been recruited to plan and prepare the meals
Vaccinations needed: Current tetanus
